What Is First Time Central Heating?
First Time Central Heating (FTCH) is for homes that have never had a central heating
system before. This includes properties using:
- Electric room heaters
- Storage heaters
- Open fires or gas fires
- Bottled gas or solid fuel systems
If you meet the criteria, we’ll install a complete, energy-efficient gas central heating system,
including a modern A-rated boiler, radiators in every room, smart controls, and all necessary
pipework.
Who Is Eligible for Free First Time Central Heating?
You could qualify for full funding under the ECO4 scheme or other government energy
efficiency grants if:
- Your home has no existing central heating
- You own or privately rent your home
- You receive income-related benefits (like Universal Credit, Income Support, Pension
Credit, etc.) - Your home has a low Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating (E, F, or G)
- Your household income is below £31,000
